Questions on Some MAME Games
« on: March 05, 2010, 02:33:38 pm »
Hey guys, Im' new here and like to ask some questions relating to some MAME games that won't run and won't work. I'm using MAME32 .103 I think, and I'm having some issues with some games so maybe you guys could explain to me what could be the cause of it.

1. Moonwalker - I have all the files to run this but the graphics and display look horrible. The backgrounds look like crap and only the characters and others look fine but not the stages and cut scenes themselves are all broken up. What gives?

2. Samuari Showdown V - I have the files but the game doesn't appear on my list. I got the bios just in case but still no luck.

3. Project Justice - Same as Samurai Showdown V.

4. Plasma Sword - Runs real slow. Could it be the computer I'm using or the game just isn't emulated right?

5. Power Stone - Same as Samurai Showdon V and Project Justice.

Thanks!

Sounds like you need a more current MAME.  Try .135?

I found one called MAME32 PLUS! 0.119. Is this still to old? In fact, what is the latest MAME32 emulator up to date?

and as for the speed, project justice / plasma sword require a top-end system to run in MAME.

I don't know if Power Stone runs, but if it does, you'll need something 10x faster than the fastest machine on the market to run it in MAME.

Plasma Sword runs great.

I have a Dual Quad Core 3.0ghz with 1GB Ram Vid, 16 GB Ram and etc...  But that is my work computer.  I have a small Hp Quad Core for my mame machine, but I havent tried it there yet...  Will check it out when I get home, but I assume it would run fine.  What are your specs?

I assume you have the correct Neo Geo bios, if so, you should be good to go...

I'm running on a 1.5 GHZ Centrinio with 1.5 GB of RAM with an ATI Video Card of 32MB.

I know, it's not the best. I just wanted to know if they work or not.

Another thing, I was using MAME PLUS 0.119 and noticed all my games get listed but for some odd reason games like Samurai Showdown 1-5 and Areo Fighters are all running in Japanese. I have the USA and Japanese roms but why isn't running the USA version?

Never mind. I found out why the games were running in Japanese. It was the Dip Switch option where you have to change the region / country setting.
