For those interested Amazon has a good deal on NES USB game pads for only $7.99
Experience is directly proportional to equipment ruined

The description confuses me:

Product Description
Replace your broken or lost controller for the NES system with the Tomee NES Controller. The Tomee NES Controller features 7-pin controller connector, eight-way directional pad and four digital buttons, and it works great on the Nintendo and NES replica systems.

So is it USB or not? The pictures and product features say so, but this description (and the price) make me question it.

The reviews also suggest that it is in fact a USB controller.
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

Well, since it says the release date is February 2010, I wasn't sure if the reviews were even for this item. Amazon has a habit of linking the wrong reviews to items.

Bought 2 at the end of January. Ship date is in April... At least I only spent 14 some odd bux from a gift card ;) Plus amazon took an additional 12 bucks from my gift card that I cannot have back until these controllers are shipped.
Thanks amazon... :(

I got mine a couple days ago.  Yes they are USB -- plug and play.  They work pretty well, definitely not an exact replica, but well worth the $8.  The D-Pad is a little stiff, but other than that I have no big complaints.

Uh... is it just me, because it's more than double that now.

Sure it does. He is talking about the price. It is now $19.62, not $7.99. ;)

Yeah, it helps if I can read right. I read "double" as "doable" so it's no wonder it made no sense at that point. :lol

Yeah I don't think I'd pay $40 for two of them, but $16 was worth it.
Looks like the same manufacturer has an SNES version for less:

Those things are getting really bad reviews.  It doesn't look like they last for more than a couple of weeks.
