And I don't care for the political lyrics. I won't get into why, because this isn't the board for it, but I'm not on the same side as Dave, for sure.

Checked the official site.  Its "Dead". not debt.

  The land is basically dead / useless   ,because of the debt.

 Same meaning, but different wording.  More harsh.
