Goodtools and Gens
« on: July 25, 2003, 10:12:51 pm »
I've used goodtools to rename my gens roms and I have tried to use the convert option on goodtools to convert all my gens roms to .bin format.  I have not been successful and I can not figure out where I am going wrong. It seems like it should be a very simple procedure.
If anyone has used goodtools to do this with success please let me know how you did it.  Thanks

Jakobud

Can you just rename the extension?  I would assume you could for them.  Just do a search for a program called RName-It.  Its a batch renamer.  You can easily select all the gens roms and change the extension on all of them to whatever you want in less than a second.

I used a program called multizip rwx to unzip all of the files to .bin.   If you still have all of your games in zip form, use this program.   You can also just rename each .smd to .bin with no ill effects.

Sheild Wolf - He wants to rename them because mamewah only handles one file extension per emulator when generating game lists.
