WG 19k7200 Monitor power problem *RESOLVED*
« on: February 15, 2010, 08:12:31 pm »
I have a 19k7200 with a great picture but the problem is that when the game is powered up, the monitor does not always turn on (no neck glow), although it does sound like it has power to the board . I can plug and unplug the monitor power connector a couple of times and it will fire up and work fine. Tried with and without an isolation transformer (not required for this chassis). I didn't see any problems with the flyback. Not sure where to look next. Main board is a P757-D.

Thanks

i would change the electrolytic caps in and around u101, have found out through much frustration on these WG chassis that sometimes the feedback cap the the chip uses to monitor the B+ voltage goes bad.

i would suspect all caps though, but being intermittent sounds kinda like the problem i was having here.... http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=99948.msg1058821#msg1058821

C015 and C011 are common culprits on this monitor.

Thanks Sarge and Lilshawn! :notworthy: I replaced those caps in the PS section and it's firing up the first every time !. Another lesson learned.
