need help with Gorf power supply
« on: February 10, 2010, 08:52:09 pm »
I just got a gorf in, the game has been in storage for many many years (the dust on it was so thick you could not belive it.  I would say easily 25 years.  anyway, when i power up the machine i see the monitor come on and glow but no sound or video.  I would say the power supply is bad.  i have several switching supplys here, i would like to change it out.  I see arcadeshop has some adapter they sell, but i am usually pretty good with the wiring.  I have downloaded the pinout, just want to know if anyone knows exactly which wires go where or if there is any other info i should know.

Hi,

Did you get an answer to this one? I just picked up a Gorf last night and mine powers up somewhat..i know the speakers get power as i can turn the volume pot and hear them crackle and some lights do come on but nothing from the coin mechs or the game itself.

Inside, someone tried to add that Arcadeshop Gorf adapter to switching power supply kit and spliced into the AC line on the old power supply....I need to figure out if I have a bad game pcb or just simply power...So need to do some basic power troublesooting first...I think the coin mechs not working is a clue...

Anyone else reading this, feel free to chime in ;)

Question, whats the best way to drill out a coin door lock that uses the security barrel lock set? Any specific kind of drill or drill bit? (dont want to break any bits using the wrong one.)

I am in San Jose, CA if anyone is near by....

Also, does anyone have the BOTTOM backdoor to a Gorf cabinet I can buy from them? Mine did not come with it....mine came from a warehouse of an old arcade route runner and door went missing.

Thanks alot.

Robbie
