Video Card Issue
« on: July 25, 2003, 11:11:43 am »
Hello All.

I have a WG D9200 and I want to be sure i put the correct video card in it.  I see the ArcadeVGA is the best card to use and i would love to use the thing but it is AGP and i need PCI.  My question is what is the best card i should use to run the WG D9200 using PCI without ruining it.  I see people saying that the kHz can coz major issues and i just don't understand.  Any help or insight would rock.  Thanks

I'm pretty sure, if you pick up any radeon class ATI PCI card you'll be in good shape.

the beauty of the 9200 is that it takes both VGA level (30) and arcade frequencies (15kz) ... if you never bother to run the games at 15khz i'm sure you'll be fine just as happy, as no matter what it'll look cooler/more authentic than on your pc monitor.

i.e. I don't think it matters all that much... but scroll down in this forum (and next page) as this disucussion has come up quite a bit...

I just went through this same debate. The best place for info is here:

You'll see that you can use the Trident Blade T64 (which is available as a pci card). He says this is the absolute best card to use with AdvanceMame as it supports all modes as well as interlacing.
