At least they didn't paint it yellow and shove a Pac-man tv game in it.

Most common non-arcade conversion abortions i see are perfectly sound sedans turned into convertibles. They are almost always crap, especially the VW's...

I don't know if you can really say "crappy" about that conversion...  It looks like a professional job to me.
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

That's weird. At first I thought that was a reproduction er... sphere. The photos of that TV show a CRT that takes up the entire space within the sphere. That widescreen crap looks like it's sporting a bezel.

I wonder if he just worked a bezel in there, then feathered it in with the rest of the sphere with a little putty and suitable fiberglass paint.

Yeah this doesn't look bad at all to me.  The bezel needs painted white at least, but it's done really well.

We generally call something a "crappy conversion" around here because of how poorly it's done, not because someone "dared" to convert something.
