720 skateboard?
« on: February 09, 2010, 07:24:20 pm »
I know there was a "themed" 720 degrees skateboard deck made by network.
However, I am trying to figure out what deck the artwork and in game board were based on.

I believe the sideart/flyer board was based off of the Vision brand "Psycho Stick" shape

The Title screen and in game board just seems to be based off the "old school" 33" X 10" Pool shape.

Anyone else know skateboards?

Now  I just need to find a set of those groovy Green/Red checkerboard wheels!

The board shape is definitely like the old Psycho Stick. Good call. I haven't thought about that board in a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time.

Now to go off-topic, sort of:

Here's a chronology of the boards I owned.

Zorlac Metallica "Pirate"

Powell-Peralta Mike McGill "Skull and Snake"

Santa Cruz Eric Dressen "Roses"

H-Street Tony Magnusson

I actually have one of those 720 themed skateboard decks.  I was thinking of putting it up next to my 720 at the time, but will probably just sell it.

Lets see; I had a Santa Cruz Duane Peters

And a Powell & Peralta Alan Gelfand Ollie

Probably a couple of others that I can't remember...

Those "checkerboard" wheels were called Simms The Wheel/II or Sims Street I think.

I miss being fit/young enough to use my Schmitt Stix Bryce Kanights deck, for which no amount of web trawling seems to bring up a picture of the red variant I had.

Before that I had a Pacer Mad dog, prior to that I had True Glide.... Proper vintage stuff.

Though I miss this in general, I especially hate being too out of shape now to skate. Not that I was ever any good, but I had more fun back then when the falls hurt a lot less.

Yeah, I was never much cop, but good enough to enjoy myself. My estranged brother (I haven't seen or spoken to him for about 15 years) carried on skating into his forties and as far as I know still surfs with his kids, so I guess if I'm honest its not my age, but my fitness that ended my skating days.

I tried teaching my daughter to skate a couple of years ago but she had a huge fear of falling off. I might have another crack at getting her interested this weekend.

This thread makes me want to:
A) Lose about 20KG
B) Lose about 20 Years
C) Buy a 720
D) Eat cake then take a nap. All this typing and thinking about exercise makes me hungry/tired.
