adjusting color on old monitor with new chassis
« on: February 06, 2010, 11:48:41 pm »
I just installed another wei-ya chassis on an old WG monitor.  The monitor powers up and has a clear picture, but i cannot get the color right no matter what i do. I  have tried adjusting all the colors, and no matter what i do ms pacman is purple.  The first maze is pink, like it should be, the dots are white, but she is purple.  On galaga, most of the bugs look good, but the main bugs that beam you up, they are off color, the green/blue they turn is off.  Is this the mark of a bad tube, or am i missing something.

Sounds more like a PCB issue.

I need to remember to check the small stuff first, i always assume it something hard.  I figured it out, I used a brand new Jamma harness when wiring the cabinet.  Every jamma harness i have used uses a red wire for red, blue for blue, etc.  Well, this harness used green for blue and blue for green.  I just reversed the wires and now ms pac is yellow.  duh.

Cheapo harness? Sounds like someone assembled it wrong.

yes, very cheap harness, but well made (other than this wire screwup).  I buy them direct from China for $5 a piece, they usually work great.
