The player is using two analog sticks to control movement and view and the trigger to shoot.  I don't think that gun is anything other than a gamepad shaped like a gun. o.O

It may have some sorta angle/acceleration detection too, like SIXAXIS but I don't think it does anything more than that.

Edit: Looking at another video, it certianly can control your perspective with motion, SIXAXIS/WiiMote style but I don't see it using any sensors for pointing at the TV.  It's just a gun shaped motion controller.  It's not really a 'light gun' at all.

It kinda looks like there is a wiimote/aimtrack type sensor bar on top of that monitor in the video posted....
Their "Website" is no help http://www.xcm.cc/

Looking at it agian, I admit I see something, but it's way too blurry.  That could just be the carry handle for the monitor even.

The player is CLEARLY using two analog sticks to play the game, so I can't see how a sensor bar would be used.  These are existing PC/PS3/360 games so new additional inputs can't be added by a controller.  Maybe a sensor rig could act as one of the analog sticks, but if the player is already using two, then there's no third analog input to emulate.

If it does have some sort of optical sensor it could be acting in tandem with one of the sticks as a finer control.  I actually think that might work pretty well if it were implemented well...
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen
