WTB: bunch of old game stuff (Bellevue, NE)
« on: December 22, 2009, 05:03:52 am »
okay, well, I live in Bellevue, NE.
one thing I'm noticing around here is that it's getting harder and harder to find any game stuff older than PSX/n64 games, but even then, it's pretty selective.
so, in effect, I figured I'd ask here to see if anyone here had the stuff I was looking for.
simply PM me with a price, and we'll go from there.

okay, so here's the list, complete is preferred, but not necessary.

I saw a row of NIB SNES controllers at a local game store recently.  I can't remember if they were $10 or $15 each.

Just make sure they are NOS, because I've bought some that appeared to be what you say, but they weren't the originals.

sonic jam                              might have it, check when I get home.
clockwork knight 1,2             I have 1 for sure, not sure about #2
duke nukem 3d                     have this for sure, in big USA box
cyberbots(import)                 I actually have this as well, import in japense jewel case
Akumajo Dracula X(import)   The game everyone says they want but dont. get the PSX, PSP, PSN, or XBOX Live version. The Saturn Version has mind numbling long load times, like 20 seconds everytime you try to bring up the map

how much you lookin to spend? All minty, but all hafta be shipped from 21921

I actually have quite a few imports, including alot of dupes; were there any other japanese titles you were searching for?

it doesn't really matter, but i guess the 3 button, don't know of any games that make use of the 6 honestly.

wow, that's a nice list, I'll send you a PM about that.
as far as other imports, I'm really open to anything, but I'll have to think about it, just let me know what you've got.

I've often wondered about that myself so I did a quick google and came up with this:
http://www.mobygames.com/attribute/sheet/attributeId,191/p,16/

I'm not sure about the accuracy of the list but if anything you like is on the list you should at least check it out...
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

I'm in Omaha, and I have a fully-working SNES with 2 original controllers and several games.

Note, none of the games I have are on your list...

Anyway, I'd hate to sell off just the controllers, leaving me with all these games and the console itself.   :dunno

Well, if they are, the box is really authentic looking.

Yobo makes a very convincing fake.  The box is nearly identical; I believe they even put the Nintendo "seal" on it.

Some people think the engraved "Nintendo" logo (rather than the printed "Super Nintendo" logo) is a giveaway, but that's not true.  Model 2 SNES units shipped with controllers like that.

The controllers are different in that the start/select buttons are plastic (on the Yobo) rather than rubber, and some other slight differences.  Not to mention the overall cheap quality.

If you are still looking I wandered through our local (St. Joseph, MO) Game Exchange at lunch today, might be worth a phone call [(816) 676-2626].  Apparently they had organized everything before Christmas (it used to look like a bomb went off in the classic gaming section) and had plenty of old systems / games and even 15-20 SNES controllers new in box for $12.99.  I couldn't get my hands on the controllers (on shelf behind the counter) but the box looked pure Nintendo.  Also the classic games (2600/5200/7800/nes/snes/sega) are on the shelf alphabetically so they should be able to check your list in short time.

Good luck!

Like I said, those Yobo boxes are very convincing.  If a place has a bunch of sealed SNES controllers (especially the "Mario/Yoshi" box), they're almost definitely fakes.  They just aren't that common.

Good luck finding Eternal Blue and Popful Mail for a good price.  Both great games, though.  Silver Star is one of my all-time favorites, but I still don't have the original Eternal Blue (just the PSX version).

As far as the DC goes, are you looking for the actual disk (collecting?) or do you just want to play those games?

yeah, i'd prefer the real disc for the DC, at least with some of the better games.
