I have had a bunch of people asking for my MALA layout. Well, it's now available for download! I think I got it all bundled correctly, let me know if it doesn't work.

Features include:

Number of times a game has been played

Marquee images instead of text when selecting games

Videos and Start Screen Snaps

Colorful graphics

Vertical Orientation only and designed for an arcade monitor (640x480)

After you download you'll need to grab the game videos and start screen snaps. I purchased mine from emumovies.com. I suggest you do the same, it's totally worth it!

I have included all of the marquee images that have been resized so each marquee is the same size. Some are normal, some are stretched and some are squooshed. It's the best solution I could come up with for a consistent look.

It's an Illustrator file. And, yes. I can give it to you.

If you can just send me the ai file using a up loader like mediafire and i wanted to ask what image resizer are you using for the marquees

i used photoshop to resize all the marquees. I created a script to handle the resizing.

Woowman93,

Not trying to step on your toes, but I played around with John's Illustrator file and managed to come up with this. Had to do some rearranging as well as a little tweaking to make it fit. Maybe John can put all the MALA layout pieces in place.

Sorry to hash up an old topic, but I really like this theme for MaLa. Can anyone upload the horizontal version of John's theme again? All the links are dead now.

We need an offical thread for posting layouts.

I'm mostly interested in the raw data files (ai, etc) used to create PNG files. I usualyl have to tweek things on my own anyways.

Hey, do you still have this available in an illustrator or psd file? I love the horizontal layout but I wanted to change the text a little. My P1 start isn't what I use to start games. Any chance you could provide me with the that file so I can tweak it?

Very new to MaLa so forgive me if this question is novice.
I'll be using MaLa in my DK JR project. It will be the first time I have ever used MaLa.
This skin created by John (?) is awesome and I really really wanna use it for my cabinet.
However looking today I am only able to set my resolution as low as 800 X 600.
Does this mean I would not be able to use the skin, or that I can use it but it wont fill up my screen ?

I second this, can someone re-link the horizontal version again?

For whatever reason, I'm struggling to find good Mala layouts! Anyone know a good site(s) to check some out?

Hello everyone, I have created a horizontal John's Arcade layout (see attached mockup). It has a mask so the marquees appear to be coming out of the large pipe. I rebuilt much of it from scratch and I have attached all the necessary files for anyone to use.
