Hydro thunder moniter help
« on: March 30, 2009, 08:30:01 pm »
I just purchased a hydro thunder sitdown racing game, and the screen is a bit crazy. Red, green, and black look fine, My problem is blue looks black(sometimes looks like black mixed with red), white looks yellow, and grey is like a yellow black mix. while playing it looks as though everything is red. I have fiddle with the two knobs on the tube (Focus and screen) and the 8 behind the coin door, and even the other 6 in the hard to reach place behind the monitor and nothing has really helped. Is it time for a new monitor?

Sounds like blue is missing.

Make/model of the monitor, please?

That's a picture of the tube label.  Useless, other than to tell me it's a 25" tube.

How about a picture of the chassis, or better yet, look at the chassis yourself, then compare it to the images on the monitor ID sites in the FAQ, or the READ THIS FIRST post stickied at the top of this forum.

and made in the usa by philips  ;D

fyi,

the blue cathode will be pin 11 on the crt/socket.
the tube may be weak and in need of rejuvination.
the blue output xistor may be faulty , as could the blue driver .
could even be a poor connection on the video input ( from game)
just a few things to check  ;)

 :dizzy: crt/socket? chassis?
Okay it hard to get pictures of the board with all the stuff on it thats conected to the tube thingy, because its connected to the monitor I dont know how to remove. I dont even know what a crt/socket is, and I cant afford to send my monitor to a spa for rejuvinatation. Would a nice, free, day at the beach with my monitor help rejuvenate it, or should I get it a sports car and a hot blonde?  :dunno
Im trying to identify the monitor but Im not sure what the chassis is. so umm ya, thats where i stand so far.

Any picture would help at this point, even with stuff in the way.  The sooner we can identify what you've got, the sooner we can pinpoint advice.
