I never played 4. Don't really know why i never did, guess i got burned out on resident evil after code veronica. 5 is amazing.  I picked it up on a whim friday when i went to pay off guitar hero metallica and was floored when i sat down to play it. My wife never really watches me play games that are "scary" but she really got into this one.  It felt very "Resident Gears of Evil War" (that's not a dig on it)

This will be a fun one online, and yea i'll be buying the versus online mode.

I didn't like 4, so from what I've been hearing I won't like 5 either since it plays almost exactly the same.

I really like 5 - one of the best games I've played on this generation - and in my opinion, there hasn't been many games to get that excited about! I like the fact it feels a bit 'retro' (well, its like Resi 4)

Yeah, I only know RE4 from the Wii, but I think it's by far the best (adult) game on the platform. Indeed they could have improved on the controls like Medal of Honor, but still. On the other hand it adds to the tension that you need to stand still to fire.

I'd love to play RE5, but I don't really enjoy FPS games with joysticks.

I believe my main gripe was not being able to move and shoot at the same time, but there were a number of other things that irked me as well.  I really tried to like the game and own both the gamecube and Wii versions because people kept telling it was such a great game.  I only made it maybe an hour or two into the gamecube version before giving up on that one.  The controls in the Wii version were definitely a vast improvement over the gamecube version, but I still only played about 1/2 way through the game before giving up on it for good.  In my opinion RE4 was possibly the most overrated game of the past decade, but everyones entitled to their own opinion and I guess mine just differs from the popular response on this topic.

RE5 is pretty awesome so far and has something that 4 really lacked, challenge. I mean it isn't Ninja Gaiden hard (pick your platform) but the difficulty level is definitely ramped up a little. I definitely recommend it!

Those were all add ons/knockoff's of the original series kinda games like metal gear VR missions typing of the dead etc.

I was just wondering becuase I did not recall running and shooting in any of the real resident evils with a actual series number and I would not be suprised or bumbed if R.E. 5 was the same as I would expect it to handle like all the prior official RE's series with a #.

I don't know why all the negative impressions of RE4 / 5.  I've played through RE 4, and i'm half done RE 5 now.

RE 5 is great, especially if you have a friend to play with offline or online.  The AI on the partner is crap though, and i've had a few fails because the partner decided to stand in front of the chainsaw dude and get cut to pieces.  :banghead:

I give a 4.5 out of 5.  Great game, good story, and a great mix of action.  I'll definately play through it a few times to get a the BSAA tokens.  There is also some good DLC coming soon.

I really enjoyed that one. I never understood the negativity toward it.

Also, what's with the Code: Veronica hate? That was the reason I bought a Dreamcast and I was not let down. I still love that game.

i was making a joke about how different the gun survivor games were.  I rather enjoyed them, even the dino crisis gun survivor game.

Code Veronica is one of my favorites in the series, not enough love for it though.

I forgot all about Dino Crisis! Not sure where they came up with that idea but it was a fun one. I think RE2 and 4 are my favorites (4 because of the Wii shooting) but Veronica was another good one.

It was a great work around to optimize the performance of the original PS, but technology has improved and RE hasn't.

If GTA IV was a bird’s eye view of an image of a car it wouldn’t be as great as it is.

At least RE has gotten away from the one room at a time idea(sort of).

Maybe RE6 will catch up to the 3D shooters on the PS2.

I beat the game last night and although i enjoyed it, it is not without flaw. The story line stunk and the ending was even worst. I understand the stationary shooting aspect to add to the difficulty and intensity but at least let me turn fast enough to be able to keep up with a passing zombie and maybe add an auto target so I can at least find the general vicinity of the zombies. I dont know how many times I was being shot at for a good 30 second until I located where the source of the shooting was. Other then that the game was very good, I give it a 4 out of 5 stars.
