EA Arcade MAME Games - PGA Tour Golf and Madden Football
« on: January 21, 2009, 12:34:40 pm »
Are either of these two games series available for MAME play?

If not is that because they are still relevant in the arcades?

No to the first question.

Yes to the second.

You'll notice that the Golden Tee Fore series isn't there either.

Or they could be added to Zinc or another powerful emulator some day.

They're pretty much PC hardware based (my GT2005 is a PC style motherboard, power supply and IDE hard drive with a PCI 3dFX video card), so if they're in MAME you'd have a PC emulating a PC.

Seems like there would be a more efficient way then MAME, something that'd let it run in hardware.

There are a bunch of games that run 3Dfx hardware that are essentially PC based and emulated in MAME.  The purpose of the MAME project (as we all know) is to preserve the games, so everything will always be emulated in software, playability be damned.

If these were going to be emulated and playable, you'd need a stand alone emulator that supports 3D acceleration, like ElSemis Model 2 Emu.  Unfortunately, I believe that Incredible Technologies has politely asked that these games NOT be emulated.
