Mamewah Resolution, understanding instructions?
« on: November 21, 2008, 06:05:45 pm »
Hi All,

Got a 15Khz Polo 3 and have finished rebuilding my cab from scratch (explosions etc....)

Trying to work out how to use the Resolution Tool from Mamewah and reading his Readme file, came across this line:

Remove modes with >256 and <448 lines (these will not fit on your screen)

Now considering I have an Ultimarc Arcade VGA2, which when I populate the Res tool I get this:

240 240 60Hz
256 240 60Hz
256 256 60Hz
256 264 58Hz
288 240 60Hz
296 240 60Hz
304 240 60Hz
321 200 60Hz
321 240 60Hz
321 256 60Hz
336 240 60Hz
352 256 60Hz
352 264 58Hz
352 288 51Hz
368 240 60Hz
384 288 51Hz
392 240 60Hz
401 256 53Hz
448 240 60Hz
512 240 60Hz
512 288 51Hz
512 448 60Hz
512 512 58Hz
632 264 57Hz
640 240 60Hz
640 480 60Hz
800 600 50Hz

I have understood to delete 50 and 51khz, but what does remove >256 and <448 lines mean?
My understanding is that I would be left with:

240 240 60Hz
256 240 60Hz
256 256 60Hz
256 264 58Hz

~Surely I must have misunderstood?

Also any clarification on this point for whoever has used this software woudl be great, as I have set my machine to run at 640x288 due to 15khz:

et 'Settings when Ideal Mode Not Found' to something sensible – I use 640x480 with hwstretch 1 (pick the resolution from the drop-down, and enter any additional options manually),

Thanks for any help!!
