Router Speed for Cutting Plexiglass?
«

I will be using my flush cutting bit and router to cut some plexiglass. Is there a certain speed I should do this at to avoid melting or something? I guess I'll test on scrap before going through with it but I'm just curious to hear what you guys think.

My router has just one speed, and it cut it like no-ones business. It shaves off too fast to melt, came off in
millions of little chips
when I did it.
Just be careful if you are trying to trim large sections, they will fly off, and be really sharp. Its much safer just to chip away in several passes then cut right through it.

Chip re-melt occurs when the bit dwells too long in one spot. Just keep your router moving at a decent speed through the work and you'll get a good result. Don't force it through the work either though.
