Bad URL?
« on: June 06, 2003, 07:27:22 am »
Everytime I try to go to http://www.arcadecontrols.com it tries to downlaod a file instead of going to the site.

It kind of sucks, because on the main page of my site, I have a large logo pointing to this site, but the link doesn't work???

That's odd... worked for me.

what if you link to http://www.arcadecontrols.com/arcade.htm
instead of the the url you used  (all that url does is redirect to the link I gave you)

although I'm sure PJ would want to know you're having an issue...

What browser are you using?

Once in a while, I have this happen to me too.  I'm not sure what triggers it, but I can only go to certain sites, but then it will mysteriously clear up.

Sometimes, when I click on an HTML link, it asks me if I want to download/save the HTML file.  Weird.

Other times, it will ask me if I want to download the file 'www.example.com' or open it, and what would I like to open it with?

Okay, this is totally a guess.

What if arcadecontrols.com uses the compressed html format, and the data gets corrupted somewhere on the way to you guys?  Or is sometimes not "mime"d correctly.

I never have gotten that problem you two talk about (sbc as ISP, netscape 7x browser).

I wouldn't be surprised if compressed gzip headers/pages was being used...  hmmm good call urebel.

The problem is his browser isn't handling the compression. So I still need to know. Browser version? OS version? etc?
