Anderson Jukeboxes - check it out

There is a site everyone needs to check out, andersonjukeboxes.com. This project was started over 4 years ago on a 500mhz computer. After a pile full of money and time, it's finally finished. It's completely handmade and features a 1.1 GHz CPU, 500 GB drive, 17" monitor, 400 watt amplifier, one 12", two 8" and two 3" speakers. My own personal jukebox holds almost 40,000 songs and 2,000 videos. It's capable of holding 92,000 songs @ 128-bits.

Let me hear from you and tell me what you think.

And I assume this is NOT licensed for commercial use?

That is correct about it NOT being licensed for commercial use. It was designed for home use only. It's not coin-operated and always on free-play. I have checked into getting it licensed for commercial use in bars or such, but the license and fees are too high. For now, I'll stick to it being just a home entertainment system.

So why are'nt there any real images?  Have you ever really built one, or is it just a design?  I like the layout, but it seems like a touchscreen would be slicker.  The keyboard should rotate in so it is hidden.  Where do you get the curved plastic for the top?

And it seen there is a homepage table errors when the page only designed to use one resoulutins and it dosen't center the background images it at all. Please fix them. Look like it's css errors. Otherway to fix it is to use tables.

Otherwice it's Sk-Jukebox (most designed for keypad controllers) which seen used here and as I known no commerciel use without licensing itfrom various vendors (there is a other thread about it).

It woul been nice to see some real images of the otherwice nice designed jukebox as wel.

But for any BOYAC support software the keyboard should been hidden, which also can break the software as well.

I don't get any errors viewing the page with Firefox or IE and there is a pic of a man standing next to what appears to be a real jukebox.

Maybe because of the errors you're getting you don't see that pic.

Sorry for the site. I was told that frames was a easy way to go. I didn't realize that it would be messed-up using a different browser. I've started redesigning it using tables instead. Hope this fixes everything.

To answer a few questions: The complete jukebox, excluding the light covers, are made of wood (no plastic). The bend at the top was made with 1/4" plywood and it was steamed to make it bend. The larger wood was kerfed. My original design (4 years ago) included a coin slot, but that involved too many problems (maybe in the future). Besides most of the people who have seen it like it without the coin-op).

As you can see, the design is similar to a Wurlitzer or Rock-ola, but they are both patented. To patent my own design I had to change quite a bit of stuff. I plan on putting up more real pictures this weekend. (Every time I get one built, it's sold before I can take some).

About the keyboard...an earlier design I had was to use SKJukeboxes' touchscreen, but the whole ideal was to make the jukebox look like a giant 'A'.

frames is a bad way to design webpages today, when we have server based script language (like example php).

Its was not a browser problem, but more a resolution problem, when homepage show in diffecent resolution. Still not look corret in 1400x1050. I do think a main table can correct this problem and set that width to that a bit under the resolution designed for.....

Otherwice the keyboard its self could elsewice just replaced with the correct controllers and buttons, like arcade buttons for Sk-Jukebox, MultiJuke ETC or some shortcuts for touchscreen based (Play, stop etc). So I dosen't think the controller base design need to been redesigned, since it just can replace with the correct controller.

It more depend which software the costumer would like to use.

I also think its US based?

NB. The javascript links dosent work, I do think it not finished yet.

Okay, I said that I would post some real pictures, but everybody's out of town this weekend. Instead I found some old pictures of my previous designs taken a couple of years ago. They still have that "Wurlitzer" look. In the first picture you can see ver.1 and ver.2, both of which were never completed (too many design changes).

Touchtunes and Rowe hold several patents on computer/downloading/MP3/hard drive use in jukeboxes for commercial applications. Rockola and Wurlitzer license that technology from those two companies in their jukeboxes. Ecast provides the music content/network to Rockola jukeboxes.

You'd have to tread very carefully if you were to do a commercial version so that you would not infringe any patents.

You should consider selling kits of the cabs for us DIY'ers.

Well after mccoy's juke, mountains, knieval's and now this....man I really want to build jukebox someday. I would have never considered such a thing before BYOAC. Would never even have thought it was possible.

I would seriously consider hiring a professional web developer to do your site. Remember that your site will often be your first contact with a customer and first impressions count.
I am a web developer btw but am not looking for work. I just see companies skimp on their website too often.
Just my 2 cents.

I happy to see how this nice Jule to been turned out.

If you going to sell, hope you design it to do a universal one for the software Jule, example like keypad style (buttons) and touchscreen use. No one howover never use keyboard when it first is in operate state. So keep that part hidden in your design so it can been used when it need to been mainstreamed.
