How To Video: Installing a printed Marquee

Great video.

Just a couple of suggestions:

You need to bring your target or Marquee more visable to the camera, and the the other suggestion is to look at your lighting.  The video is kinda dark and it was hard to see what you were attaching to the cabinet.  I knew what they were but, to a noob would be difficult.

Nice commentary, cool cab.  If you can edit it with better lighting and position, then I suggest it should be stickied.  I'm also a buddying video film maker.  And I find lighting a real pain to work with. 

If you are going to do more tutorials can I suggest a book: The Filmmakers Handbook ISBN 0-452-27957-7 which is a great resource.  Get it cheap on Amazon.

Yeah, it was actually lit pretty well, but I converted the video twice and the quality suffered.  Darn Youtube limits the file size, so I had to compress it further and I wasn't home to re-ouput it.

Thanks for posting the video. It helps out us noobs! A tip on uploading to Youtube...only compress once and use these settings

Output Format: MPEG4-4 Movie(*mp4)
Resolution: 320x240
Audio: MP3 audio
Video Frame Rate: 3frames per second frame rate (30fps)

or if you can convert your original straight to an FLV file, you can bypass Youtube compression. There are some limitations. I believe you have to use FLV1 codec (not VP6) and the total bitrate has to be under 350kps. Then whatever you are uploading to Youtube will look exactly the same when it gets posted to Youtube.

Excellent info!  I have been experimenting with encoding on Youtube and was wondering what the optimal settings would be.

It would be nice however if you could show a close up of the marquee surround and a close up of the marquee clips to show how they connect to the cab and how the plexi slides into them.
