New Machine On The Way!!
« on: November 28, 2007, 07:38:32 pm »
Ok, so I have been looking on Ebay a long time for one of these machines and finally came across one that was in the best condition I have seen so far. And...$1500 later, it's on the way. I have a spot all picked out. What machine is it....? The last few pics should give you a hint. I'll post more when it gets here.

SPOILER...SPOILER!!!!!

Then I'm guessing he's planning on filling that space with something.   :dunno

Actually, the Star Wars Trilogy cost me $2000. One of the benifits of being single with no kids is I can do whatever I want, whenever I want with my moolah.

Wow! $1,500 for a fighter game? I'd only spend that kind of cash on a working vector game!

I would guess it is a beautiful Star Wars upright cabinet or perhaps a Star Wars pinball machine?

Ok, I should clarify. The machine was only $1000, but after shipping charges to get it from New Jersey to Kansas made it total NEARLY $1500. Plus, if I bought one that was run down and crappy for a lot less, to fix it up to mint condition, I'd end up spending a lot more than what I paid for this almost pristine one. You'll see.

And even then you could buy three!  Very few games, even vector games, approach anything like $1500.

Not everyone has to be as thrifty as us poh folk. Judging by his current collection, it's probably a pristine cabinet. Good for him.

That is a pretty nice MKII, and they aren't too common in that condition. Still, $800 max. Considering shipping is included, I guess you didn't do too badly, but $1000 shipped would be generally the highest for that machine in that condition.

I would have sold you my dedicated MKII with MK pcb (with sound board), MKII(with sound board), UMK3, a spare MK4 metal CPO and spare metal MK3 overlay for 1000+ actual shipping. cancel that other order while you still can!

Im in Maryland and its CLOSE to New Jersey!

Thanks man. I REALLY appreciate it, but I already have all that stuff (minus the MK4 overlay). I am going to sell that Street Fighter Cab I just got done restoring if anyone is interested. I spent around $600 restoring it, so I have to at least make a profit, but that's a whole other thread.

Good, because that was never my intention.

Discussion of price is reasonable in a thread like this.  It's not like we called him a --cream-filled twinkie-- and made fun of him for paying so much.

I was jokin, I woulda sold it for 800+ shipping easy, I'd even wipe off the lb or two of dust free of charge! Once I got my neo geo cab (restored) I kinda stopped messin with MK

The actual point of this post was to say be careful with the MK1, it has a different kick harness then MKII/MK3/UMK3 and prolly 4 as well. enjoy the machine!

After only having to wait a week for shipping and 14 years after it came out, I finally have it...
I still have to change out the control panel for the one shown above, but I already cleaned up the monitor and added my Adobe Illustrator warrrior moves lists and some other stuff around the bezel. It's also 2 inches shorter than my Mame MK3 because I am 6'3" and I made the MK3 machine taller so I don't have to bend over to play it like the MK2.

How about build a 2" base for MK2 to sit on?

Hell you could just put a couple 1" plywood segments, screwed together, painted black.  No one would ever notice and it would take 20 minutes to make.

I noticed the character cards around the monitor bezels on the UMK3... they weren't on the machines in the before pics you have.   Did you buy these from somewhere or did you make them?  If made, would you be willing to share the file? ;D
