FS: Empty Tempest Cabinet - Indianapolis, IN - $50
« on: August 18, 2007, 09:32:18 pm »
Got this today, and I agree with the seller, that I don't think I am going to keep it and try to track down all of the parts.

Photos here of the cabinet.

I can provide more if needed. It is completely empty.

Email me at rothecreations at gmail dot com if interested.

Geeze..  I _DO_ live closer, but have to many projects/wants to try my hand at this..  *sigh*

Have you thought about tastefully 'mame-ing' it..?  Put in a decent VGA monitor, make a 'spinner-only' control panel..  Make it easily restorable but keep away from the cost of the vector monitor and tempest board..?

Thanx.

Well, since you are located in Indianapolis....maybe we could work out a trade?  I know you said you have too many projects, but maybe we could switch projects.  You could tastefully mame this classic, and I could get some other cabinet you have around?

I have thought about Mameing it, but I already have one machine and for me I like projects that end.  A Mame project is one of those that can always be cooler!

Heh..  My list of projects:

1) Galaxian -> mutli-classics..  I've got the cabinet stripped..  Need to finish patching (lots) and prime/paint/etc...   I've got the controls, computer, monitor, etc, etc waiting to go...

2) Nintendo vs. Cocktail restore - Barely started.  Still having monitor issues

3) Nintend vs. cocktail -> 4 player mame conversion..  Not started at ALL.  Just have the extra cocktail  :)

4) Dreamcast cabinet..  JUST have the Dreamcast, monitor, controls..  Need to build (someday) a showcase cab for the 36" VGA monitor  :)

5) Jukebox.. Have a line on a $20 gutted jukebox to start it..  Still in 'planning'

6) FINISH MY BASEMENT!!  Have to have somewhere to put all this stuff!  :)

So, I have all these projects that I want to do, but unfortunately very little time to do them.   *sigh*

For a conversion, though, that cab looks great..  sideart is in pretty good condition...  But, as I said, I don't even have time for MY projects  :(   I'm in Fishers (NE side of Indy, in Hamilton county...)

:(
