Man, we should work out some sort of proxy bidding system for those members that can't make it to auctions but want to bid. Maybe some members with the resources could attend, bid on behalf of others, arrange for shipping, and do it all out of the kindness of their heart (and a fair service fee).

That's a lot to ask of a guy, but hey, if someone is willing, they'd be instantly recognized as super cool.

I can see that. My worry would be that each cab costs a bit of money. Funds would have to be cleared and held before auction so the proxy bidder wouldn't be stuck with the bill. If the bid didn't happen, funds would be returned minus whatever fees for the service.
