Mamewah and House of the Dead (HOTD) please help

Have all PC games working except for HOTD2 and HOTD3. HOTD2 freezes the PC. I got a no CD patch for HOTD3. But the game refuses to launch, it just bounces right back to the game list. Every other Pc game / apps works. Please HELP, everything else works (vpinmame, sk jukebox, mame, other pc games and apps)

I wonder why this is happening.  For the PC games I usually choose to run them by links on the desktop.  Since my American Laser Games I have to press F everytime to run in fullscreen.
