I have checked e-bay a couple of times... have not seen any four player recently..

a lot of the single/double coin doors look pretty beat up.. are they easily restored?

I dunno if you would call it easy, but the Midway door I'm restoring has actually been completed disassembled, stripped/de-rusted, and repainted.. even had to hammer out a couple of spots.. and it's looking great..

If you get a Coin Controls or Happ coin door it will be even easier since you can replace almost every part as long as the frame is good.  Just look out for items that appear mechanically complete (although most parts can be replaced, keep in mind).

And if you buy a rusty one, just get one of those paint/rust stripping wheels for a drill.. works like a charm and leaves a nice, bare, somewhat scratchy surface for priming.

If I do a 4P coin door on my next cabinet, I may just buy the door, a bucket, and fashion some sort of holder myself to save over an over/under combo (saves a little, anyways).

Also, you might want to try videoconnect.com.. call them for a price, but they're always cutting deals on nice stuff like shifters, pedals, 4P coin doors, and even analog sticks.

I Happen to have a 4 player Coin door with 4 good mechs in great condition. The only thing that is wrong with it is that 3 of the four lights are burned out. I even have the coin bucket that attaches to it. I'd let it go to you Silverwind for oh say......free. Really email me at bryan@birdtales.com and if you pay the shipping from Maryland to you I'll send it to you.

This door is coming out of a dual monitor Atari sitdown. I'd give it an 7.5 or 8 out of 10. Pretty sure it all works good. I even replaced a couple of the coin drop plastics with new ones recently. If I Mame the cabinet the control panel will wind up covering the Coin door anyway so I don't need it. If you can use it and I don't see it on eBay in a week or two you are welcome to it.

i have a sort of off topic question.  Does anyone know what happ charges for shipping on coin doors.  I mean roughly, i realize they very in size.  So far with the few things i have ordered from them, it seems like they're a little hign on their shipping.  Any info is greatly appreciated.

Why not just call HappControls and find out?   HHmmmm...they actually may not tell you since they have no idea until they pack it up for shipping...but by that time you have already committed to buying the thing.....nice system for them  huh  >:(
