Lighted Button Kits .. $2.09 each ? Anyone use these ?
« on: July 13, 2006, 09:15:49 pm »
I was looking around and found these.  They are considerably cheaper than others I've seen and they don't look bad.  Does anyone have these ?  Are they worth it ? http://www.dreamarcades.com/partsbuttons/index.shtml

I haven't seen them - they look good to me. I wonder what kind of electric you need to get to them.

Good catch! I didn't notice that. Yes. Concave for me.

They use LED's so they can probably handle between 5 to 24 vdc.

Here are some pics of my Centipede mame control panel (links below), I am using 3 of these buttons.  I'm running them off of the computers 5 volts along with the volcano buttons, and the trackball LED is run off of the computers 12 volts.  Not sure why I did it that way, I think at one point I had a reason, anyways, you just need to make sure you use the appropriate resistor value with the LEDs.  ...And yes, concave would have been better, but at the time it seemed like a good idea.  By the way, where can I get concave translucent LED microswitch buttons in red, green, and blue?
