I'm doing up NullDc in my cab because i can do 4 players with it, but some of my favorites for it are:

Sword of the Berzerk
Record of Lodoss Wars
Marvel Vs Capcom 2
Powerstones 2
Ooga Booga Smiley
Florigan Brothers Smiley

There's a ton of home brew stuff for the dreamcast scene, and just until recently they just stopped making dreamcast games.  I probably have close to 400 dreamcast games, i was an addict!

this is a good page for PSX Games http://www.racketboy.com/retro/2007/01/best-undiscovered-playstation-ps1-psx.html

Trap Gunner was an excellent game, a top down shooter, much like powerstone, that had great strategy gameplay. Best played with more than one person ;-)

I was just given a boxed Dreamcast by a buddy. I want this to share a vertical MAME cab with the PC. Anyone have a list of all the Dreamcast shooters that support being spun vertcally?

I know this is years old but Ikaruga is an excellent (and hard!) shooter that can be played vertical or horizontal.

Well that horizontal mode is for sideways monitors, not really for horizontal gaming.  I say this because when ever I try that game that way it makes me seasick.

PSX also has a Raiden game.

Ps1: WIP3OUT was probably the best hover/racing game on the system. Castlevania SOTN was the reason I bought a PSP and the latest Castlevania with SOTN as an "unlockable" game. Smiley

DC: Ikaruga (probably the best shooter ever) and Soul Caliber. Crazy Taxi and Chu Chu Rocket are also lots of fun. Shenmue if you like somewhat lengthy RPGs -- it's very tastefully artistic.

No one has mentioned Legend of Mana for PS1, the game is just beautiful, if not a little odd.  It's all 2d, but the backgrounds and sprites are amazing.  The gameplay is kinda odd though.  It is an RPG, but your HP reset after each battle.  Magic is all done through Musical Instruments (which you may forge yourself), you can also forge your own weapons, armor, grow your own fruits, grow your own pet monsters, and build Golems.  So yeah, and you build the world too, so it is kinda cool.

I also like Deception 3, Dragonseeds, and Alpha Boost (This is just an arcade shoot em up)

Later,
Lotus
I LOVED THAT GAME!
i was a tekken freak ,all three games, ridge racer and ridge racer revolution, krazy ivan was really good too

N2O (nitrous oxide) is the best ps1 game ever
played it on a big screen with the ps3 upscaling and surround sound ???....it about gave me a seizure, but in a good way Grin

if you can find it, then buy it

Part of the game is collecting little "E" pills and mushrooms it tripped out looking tubes whilst listening to a full Crystal Method CD (which will play in any audio cd player)

FFVII wasted quite a few of days...There was also a really awesome rally car game that rivalled the PS2's early games graphically, but I can't remember its name

The best fighter for the PSX is *drumroll*:

Tobal #2 (Import)

If you can get your hands on this sucker, it'll provide you with many hundreds of hours of awesome gameplay and has something like 200+ playable characters. Friggin sick and HIGHLY recommended.

i am kinda shocked only one person mentioned Toy Cammander for the Dreamcast. Expendable is a pretty good game as well if you are into the whole Mercs style shoot-em-up.

speaking of which do not forget Loaded for the PS1 as well. great game, but i heard Loaded 2 is awful. killer soundtrack on the first as well.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Einhander (PS1)!  It is a GREAT side scrolling pseudo-3D shooter.

Super Street Fighter 2X-not sure if this is the same as the puzzle fighter though im certain it is

It was actually 'Super Street Fighter II X for Matching Service'.  Basically in Japan, Super Street Fighter II Turbo is called Super Street Fighter II X.  The 'Matching Service' thing was basically a Server u connect to in japan either using the BBA or the inbuilt modem and you could Vs ppl.

Oh and btw, Wipeout 2097/XL is the best wipeout game ever made (Wipeout Pure/Pulse come a close 2nd).

there's plenty of titles for the psone and most of the people here name the popular ones. I like these titles:

-parasite eve 1 (never got to play 2 though)
-brave fencer musashi
-omega boost
-wild arms
-megaman 8 and the X series.

Dreamcast wise, I always loved playing Virtua Tennis, Metropolis Street Racer... still have Shenmue but never got into it.  Seriously going to have to pick up some of those titles mentioned though.  Good list guys.

Crazy Taxi and Grand theft Auto 2 for Dreamcast.

For Playstation:

IF youve never played Akumajo Dracula X (Castlevania Symphony of the night)

its the last and greatest 2D Castlevania ever.

I was always waiting and wondering when another Castlevania 2 would come out.

the only thing i never liked much (after 2 Came out) with any of the castlevania game is that they were Linear and wouldnt let you explore anything.

symphony is the best of the best and it has awesome music.

I can't believe you guy's forgot about Intelligent Cube for PSX!

It's one of the best puzzle games I've ever played with a unique soundtrack! No boring or irritating tunes!
