Hopefully others will benefit from my time spent ......

I have the TOSEC Commodore Amiga set (about 15000 files) and use WinUAE.   Since a lot of games have multiple disk files associated with them, then the 15,000 files came out to be about 2,600 games.   I started each game individually to determine which games would be cabinet-friendly.

None of the CD32 games worked for me and only about five Amiga1200 games worked and were worth keeping.  As a result, most games are only Amiga500 games.   Anyway, I attached my WinUAE configuration files which I used to create the UAE game files.  I used headkaze's UAEConfiguration tool to create the individual UAE game files ...... thanks headkaze!.  Just rename the attached TXT files to have an UAE extension instead.

Tons of games did not start, were just plain annoying, had skantly-clad women and/or bad language in the intro screens and were rejected.   I also rejected games which took forever to load, since games which load slow would be annoying to me on an arcade cabinet.

I found 258 games only to place on my cabinet.   Yes, only 10% of all games were found by me to be "worth-it".  All games required the arrow keys for movement and the left-control button to fire.  The games also require the mouse and left/right mouse click buttons to get past the very annoying intro screens which each game includes ...... what a pain....

While most games do not require anything more than the arrow keys, left-control and mouse/buttons, other did require other buttons.

Here is the complete list of key mappings required:

arrow keys (for movement)
left-control button (to fire)
mouse and left/right click buttons
F1, F2, F3, F4, F5
1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Y, N
M
S
G
P
D
Ctrl-F11 (to quit)
Spacebar
ENTER
ESC
END+(0->9)  (switch disks)

Here is the list of games going on my cabinet:

I take it that Sensible World of Soccer 96/7, Speedball 2 and The Chaos Engine 2 didn't work? If so, that's a shame. If you didn't try them, they are the three games that you *have* to be on your cabinet, especially if you've got two joysticks on it.

There are many crappy and buggie pirated Amiga games, that may removed more than you think, or have a lots more bugs in the original. This is why I never really liked these adf games (I have even trouble to get many of these on my actuel Cd32).

Instead your should find the preserved versions of the original games, and then install it to the harddisk with a hd-installers like whd or jst. These installers can even install games, that never could been hd-installed.

One of the best problem game is "Batman - The movie": This game did never works on my cd32 or on the emulator. But when I installed it with the jst hd installer, it now works like a dream without any issues. They do not just install on the harddrive, they also remove some compatible issues, and work on newer Amigas/Emulators too. They even remove copyprotections (manual checks and so on).

The best thing with hd-installed game is: No more diskswapping!

Howover I have not checked how to work on a cabinet, because I played on the original machine or on the emulator.

Overall this is an excellent unbias list from the TOSEC amiga set, and since there are so many games pirate games that unclet had to go through, I really have to hand it to him for getting it done.

Yes, it took me forever .... and I felt like pulling my hair out at times, but I finally have enough games to play.    If I try, I probably could get more games working by tweaking the memory, etc... in WinUAR, but that is too much extra work for me.

Thought I would just share the game list which I settled on .... in case others did not want to go through the pain I just went through .....

Thanks for recognizing my effort ......

There are many nonworking games, while I droppede adf in some years ago, because all these kikstart problems (wich is typically are). I loved the Amiga in that time. WHD/JST games is just a lots funny to play (and you can even play many problem games, that now work again in a emulator, since they are patched)

There are many whd/jst based games (where they are allready "installed"), you can find on the net.
You should got a lots more succes with these hd-installed games.

The only problem is, it may been hard to get them converted to a harddrive file for each game, why I may want to make a little frontend (in Amos, wich I used in that time) instead to the Amiga, that run these game directly, like a rom-folder.....

Otherwice a great list, Unclet that you toke that affoct. Should make a wiki section about it?

Thanks UNCLET.

I'm devastated that Stunt Car Racer did not make it.
Many hours were wasted racing against friends with linked Amiga's back in the good old days...
