For now, just a poll to show if anyone is interested in a re-run of the 2004 or 2005 tokens...

I think I am one of the few that ended up not having money either time those tokens were being done.

i'd love 200 brass 2004 tokens, but i think we'd have to get together a large amount of pre-orders (with money) to sway mr token to do another run.  i've talked to him before and he doesn't see much interest.

the cost would be lower than an original run since the dies are still available, but to set up machines and make the tokens, still creates a bit of a price hump to get over.  anyway...

IIRC, the min order is 5k or 10k tokens... you'd need a LOT of interest and prepayment to make it happen.

I would be interested in a re-run of the 2004 tokens (brass or nickel).
I would at least buy 200.  I really like the design on the 2004 tokens so I wouldn't mind doubling my order.

1050 tokens on imaginary order in a single day...now if we could only get santoro in on this with his opinion and must-have-to-order number.

It's been discussed at least 2 or 3 times already.  I'm sure Santoro will pop in here eventually, but I wouldn't hold my breath for a re-run.

Like I said, I'm pretty sure the minimum number is pretty large, and once the people interested order what they want, my guess is there's a really good chance Santoro will be sitting on the remainder for quite a while.

If he ever does re-run the old designs, I hope he has the mint scrub the date off the dies first.

But isn't it more fun to get a new design every year?  I could actually use another few hundred, but I'm waiting for another design to come down the pike.

Hey Santoro, it's 2006!

the date is on those tokens forever because it is actually etched into the die. It is not portruding to be scrubbed off.

kind of on subject, how did the redo of the mame token come out? how much stock of those tokens do you have left?

There are about 3000 left.

Next payday, if the budget allows I'll probably pick up 200. (But I still want the 2005 tokens!) Good to see at least some of those are left.

What kind of number are you looking for to do a re-run of the 2004 or 2005, depending on interest?

I was thinking "pre-orders" didn't mean that'd be all there were  :'(

I was hoping to order some as well, same situation as mission, and the sale was over before I had a chance to sneak a few bills into my private "do whatever you want with this" stash.

I'd be in for 100 2004 BYOAC tokens (or 2006 or whatever with the same design). I love that design.

In terms of volume, I don't really need more tokens. I am more interested in variety --  so mixed lots would be cool (50 MAME + 50 BYOAC or whatever).

For now, just a poll to show if anyone is interested in a re-run of the 2004 or 2005 tokens...

The BYOAC tokens, you mean?  As opposed to MAME tokens...

It would probably be worth my while to buy more of the 2004 design, or maybe the 2005 design.

If you're assuming the same number of tokens need to be minted, then they'll cost 4 times as much as they did.

If you're assuing the same price of the tokens is to be offered, a hell of a lot more need to be spoken for.

I'm gonna go with eleventy brazilian for either number ;D

Dammit my posts keep disappearing.

Anyway, when I researched doing tokens awhile back, I thought the minimum run was around 5000.

The price gets pretty reasonable, but you have to factor in the dye costs, any other design and time costs, shipping and then that whole re-shipping and make back your money costs and keep it reasonable enough for everyone else to purchase.

Gets steep and I don't think I'd want to place a 5000 order unless I had a break-even reached.

If everyone that voted yes to the poll, orders a minimum of 200 tokens we would be set.

17 people  x 200 tokens each = 3400 total tokens

must.. resist... ordering.. more... tokens...

You can never have to many tokens.

Well I'm in there, and I'm NOT down with 2004, and I'd bet there's a few folks in there like me, such as mission, who voted yes and meant 2005 since there wasn't an option for "yes to 2004", "yes to 2005", or "yes to 2004 OR 2005".

I don't want 2004 tokens, I want the ones I missed out on.

As part of the poll, I have listed a quantity for each option, so we get an idea of how many tokens we will actually end up ordering.
