Cabinet Plans
« on: January 10, 2003, 02:49:34 pm »
I need several cabinet plans to give to the carpenter for both sides of my cabinet. The problem is that all plans I have find are from square like cabinets with huge control panels that get out from both sides. I would like some more "roundy" cabinet. Thank you.

You should peruse the examples section of this site and be more specific of what you are looking for. Do you not like the larger control panels or is it you don't like square control panels?

There aren't a lot of plans available on the net. If you haven't already you should check out http://www.cybertechdesign.net/mameroom/ His plans are reasonably priced and I believe the Ultimate Arcade II has both the big 4 player panel in the plan and a smaller 2 player panel. Email him, he's great about answering questions.

That looks easy enough, you should be able to adapt most any cabinet plans that you have to a simple control panel.

There aren't that many free plans available. There are lots of drawings, sketches, and pictures. But few detailed plans.

I know its not that big a deal to draw your own or work on the fly from rough dimensions, but if he's looking for detailed plans I haven't seen many. Plus cyberpunk offers full size templates if you want, I don't think I've seen any1 else offer that.

When you consider that your going to invest $1000+ into a cabinet, $20 for a good foundation isn't bad. I know you can build a cabinet on the cheap for a lot less, so don't flame with that.  A quality cab with nice graphics and new everything is going to easy cost $1000, especially since this Kherem is intending to pay someone to build it for him. $1000 is a bargain compared to what some of the cabinet builders are charging.

How 'bout a sitdown cab? 8)

Sorry we got off on a tangent.  Looking at the design Kherem posted, looks like you could take just about any model of cab and just round out the edges of the side panels.  I imagine he could use CyberPunk's design and show his carpenter the picture of the rounded side panels and they could alter the design without any problem.
