Can Anyone Identify this hantarex monitor.
« on: August 29, 2005, 06:47:07 am »
I have this monitor (all labels say hantarex) it was fitted in a "Video Wizard" cabinet bade by Star automatic supply of Stoke-On-Trent (UK).

The monitor worked perfectlyfor about a week after I got the cabinet (and converted it to mame with an arcadevga card) the screen has never been fed incorrect syncs etc.

the monitor went out halfway through a game, no smoke, no bang, no clues as to the fault (just acted as if I had pulled the power).

first thought was the psu had shut itself down (as I am not loading up the 5 & 12v) but that is still quite happily supplying the 128v to the monitor.

anyway enough of my rambling...... heres the pics of the chassis.

label found on tube (suspect tube manufacturer)

On Tube base board

The only other mark or number on the chassis is BY-04.

Please help, the cabinet currently has my 20" tft monitor from my computer in it (and I'm missing it now I am having to work on a 15")

My MTC 9000 looks exactly the same as yours - So I'd be willing to guess thats what it is :D

Looks like a 9000 and it also looks like it still has original capacitors.

yes the caps are original (however the ones I have pulled and checked so far come back within 5% of rating)

ok... next question... does anyone have a schematic for this version of the 9000, the schematics I have found so far just dont ring true to the circuit I have been tracing through on the chassis itself.

it seems that the OCP circuit is kicking in and turning off the tipl762a transistor (transistor checks ok)

the horizontal output transistor (bu508a from memory) checks out ok aswell.

There were several versions of the 9000 from what I gather, but only one version made it to print in the form of a manual & schematic. Many of the capacitor problems on Hantarex monitors have been either cap off value or ESR is out of tolerance or BOTH.

cheers ken, looks like its back to chasing tracks all over the board for me then.

do you know of any particular cap that will take the monitor down as I described, there was no noise, smoke etc and there was no distortion on the screen of any sort (it really was just like I had turned it off)

Hi there, glad to hear you fixed the problem. Would you mind telling me where you bought the new LOPT? I have the same model as yours and if it ever goes it'd be nice to know where to get a spare :D
Thanks

I got it through the person I bought the cabinet from, he runs a company that manages pool tables / fruit machines etc, will find out where he sourced it from.
