KeytoJoy?
« on: April 27, 2005, 07:17:12 pm »
I've heard of JoyToKey. Is there something that goes the other way?

I want a KeyToJoy. Something that will emulate a Joystick via a keyboard.

The problem is that I have a PC game that the keyboard controls are not customizable that I want to put on my cabinet. However, the keyboard controls for this game are not changeable. The game was designed to play using a joystick/gamepad.

I might be able to get away with loading a different IPAC setting just for this game, but I'd like to explore the possibility of simply mapping my keyboard to a Virtual Gamepad.

Any ideas?
Joseph Elwell.

Theres one called RBJoy that I believe works as you want it to - unfortunately the page is in German. Good luck! http://www.rbsoft.de/

This appears to have the same functionality as KeyToJoy. That is, it lets you use a joystick/gamecontroller instead of a keyboard. I want to go the other way.

Maybe the english translation is off. I will download and try it at home.

There is such a program floating around out there.  If you run a search on this board for "Virtua Tennis" you'll find the info you need.

I didn't see if the solution was what lilwolf was looking for, but I think this thread was the same question, and I think it was answered: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,34259.0.html

Yep, you actually want the thread linked at the end of the one above: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,10778.msg86775.html#msg86775

Thanks everyone!

I was searching all over for days looking for this. The only reason I didn't give up was because I could have sworn that I've seen this before.
