Milwaukee Auction

Did anyone go to the Milwaukee auction today?  I saw a MAME cabinet go for $1700 early.  There were a few others later.  I didn't stick around - did anyone get prices for the later ones?

What was the MAME machine that was sold?  Diamond Plate on it?  Buncha guys with black shirts and cowboy hats around?

I'm in the western Chicago suburbs, as are a few others around here.

The $1700 Mame cabinet was nice, but nothing special.  It was built in a generic arcade cab with original, but nice & glossy side art.  The control panel had a joystick and spinner, and ink-jet-printed, plain paper CP artwork covered with plexi.  It had a flat-tube PC monitor in it that wasn't even decased.  I think it was a 17" monitor mounted vertically.

I got there early and powered it up.  It went in to Windows and didn't even pull up a front end automatically.  Later, an adult, probably in his late 30's or early 40's and a 10-year-old were there to work on it.  They stuck around helping people use it most of the day.

I brought the first Mame cab I ever built there for auction.  Mine was the Virtua Fighter cab with 2 players and 25 inch arcade monitor (Medium Rez). Sold for 850.  I also had a golden tee 99 (33 inch screen) and it sold for 350 next to it.

The other 2 Mame cabs with the track ball on top of the glass sold for 375 and 325. and did not make reserve of 400.

I was there when the 1700 cab came in the night before. They gave that guy preferrential treatment and asked him if they could put ALL his cabs first.  I asked If I could have the same, and they said no.  When they moved the machine around they slammed them into other machines.  They had a photo machine there that they actually lost photos as they moved it and they didnt care.  I know my machine when I powered it on when I got there was ALL good.  When I got there in the morning I had to actually degauss it after they moved it. If you are thinking of selling any cabs at superauctions, I suggest you should research it first.
