Just some license plates I did up. - UPDATE
« on: June 09, 2004, 09:15:58 pm »
Nothing to spectular, I owe pixellhugger a big thanks for helping me with the images. I did them on the vinyl cutter at work and then stuck them on some blank license plates.

Update: Ok if anyone wants any of these. They are $7.00 each shipped. You can have any color you want as long as it is a black plate with a white decal.   ;D  The vinyle is a 5 year outdoor vinyl and should last awhile. I'm sending the first BYOAC plate to pixelhugger and he can comment on the looks. If you just want the decal it is $4.00 shipped and I have different colors you can choose from. The space invaders decal's are only $2.50 each. And I have all of them not just the alien I posted. Pixelhugger will get a small percentage for his time and efforts.

That's a nice vinyl cutter! Is it the large format type for signs? I like the second one alot. Just out of curiosity... exactly how big of a roll can you use? *insert scheming here*

Thanks, it can handle 24" vinyl but will only cut it about 22" maybe alittle more if I'm really carful. But 22" is safe to say. I thought about paint templates. Not sure how that would work though.

ps. I am also taking request and custom orders. You just have to provide the artwork in an eps file.

Too bad texas requires a plate on the front and the back.

Although it may legally require a plate on the front and back, I've seen plenty vehicles who disregard that law.

My car (in Dallas) doens't have the front plate. It never got put on after a wreck. Nobody has pulled me over for it yet, though I haven't driven it much lately, either.

Back home in south TX, though, I've gone for probably years without a front license plate. But down there everything seems to be a bit more relaxed. I've never heard of anybody down there getting pulled over for a noise violation (like if your stereo is too loud), either, but I hear it happens in other places.

The BOYAC design would look cool on  a mirrored plate... In my opinion...

In MA, you can't get an inspection sticker without a front and a back plate.  You can also be pulled over and fined.

BTW, a mirrored license plate is a bad idea.  It's a glare hazard.

I was a snot nosed kid in a brand new 1986 corvette (in 1986), and in Seaside Heights NJ, the summer rent-a-cop gave me a ticket for no front license plate.

Luckily I didn't do anything else wrong.  That cop wanted my arse in the can.  All for sitting at a parking spot, looking like some rich punk.

I was definitely a punk  ;D

I'm in Boston and don't have a front plate. I keep meaning to tek screw one onto the front, but something always gets in my way.

How come people with the white plates with green text don't need a front plate?

I never said you'd have to put it on your car. I was thinking more along the lines of hanging it in my gameroom...

I think they do, though if they can get away with it it's probably because of some grandfather clause since they don't make those plates anymore.

My father was rich.  He bought it for me.  That's why I was a punk. ;D

BTW, that would look good next to my DOA license plates in my garage and/or tool shed.

www.autoplates.com or www.customlicenseplates.com if someone was motivated enough to do a BYOAC plate run (like the tokens).  Maybe just pixelhugger's design on the normal assortment of stuff at CafePress (or whatever that place is called)

If you get pulled over for no front plate they just give you a fix it ticket. I got one, all I had to do was put the plate on the front and find a police officer to verify it and sign the ticket. No fine whatsoever.

This is in CA

Just got the Invader decal and immediately put it on the rear side window of my car. (Yes, I was the kind of kid who opened his videogames in the back of the station wagon just to examine the cartridge on the way home).

Quality of these vinyl decals is exactly what I'd expect from a professional auto customizer or sign shop. I can hardly wait to get my hands on the BYOAC logo decal, that one's going on the rear window!

I'm obviously biased because of my involvement, but at few bucks a pop these are SOOOOOO worth it! Thanks HotWhls!  :)

LOL!  I still do that... With everything I buy.  I'm constantly finding myself in the parking lot with a key trying to saw through those stupid sealed plastic packages.
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

We are not required to have front plates in Arizona. In fact, if you want a front plate you have to pay extra for it. (Like anyone would). :)

hang on, you mean in the States you don't need a front registration plate??

Over here in the UK the car has to be identifiable from both the front AND back, seems mad to have it any other way, lol

(guess it opens it up for it you want a KITT one on the front....  ;D )

Southern Carolina as well. However I have also noticed that around here having one at all is kind of an option (along with turn signals, trunk lids, windshields, doors, etc.).

In Oklahoma we're only required to have plate on the rear of the car, and we don't have any kind of vehicle inspections at all.

I think you have to have these, but you have the option of having them attached to your car or just scattering them across your lawn.

LMAO! Thanks Chris!

I think it's also law to have an Old Camaro in the center of all these scattered items.  ;)

So......

PS: gonna order one of them invaders, assuming they are still available.
