with the hundreds of cabs being produced here (well, maybe dozens

) I wanted to see what names people have used so I don't repeat them when I'm trying to think of one. I would hate to inadvertently take someone's name and not even realize it (unless it was a good one

)

I'm not a fan of the cutesy names, and I would never use MAME in the title, so my marquee simply says "Arcade Classics".

Mine is the "Tomorrowland Arcade" and after I get done with my jukebox project I am going to build a cocktail cab that will be the "Main Street Electrical Arcade"

Mine has no "official" name yet... it's temporarily dubbed "The MAME Machine" (original, no?) until it's pretty much "completed", at which point I plan on christening it with a name....

I say "completed" in a very general manner, mind you... what MAME cab is truly ever completed?

I hung out at one called "The Dream Machine", so that would work out well. Our nickname for it was "The Magnet", because we couldn't walk past it without being pulled in.

I'm also not one to give mine a name. It just has a Centipede marquee in it.

But the idea of naming a cab after an arcade that you used to hang out at is pretty cool, actually. I used to hang out at one called "Games Galore", and my cab actually came from there (not directly, but I found a token in the cash box from there so I know it used to "live" there). That name is also descriptive of what the cab offers. So if I ever did name it, that is what I would call it.

I would refrain from putting MAME in your cabinet's name. My cab just has the official blue mame logo. NO ONE knows what it is or even what it says, (what's MEME? MIME? MEME?). I wish I had just put up a classic marquee or used a generic "arcade" marquee.

The first one was just Matt's Mame

The second will be "the Davis Family Arcade" and we'll put new marquee's in each year of the Family together in front of some famous place in town. When we take down the old Marquee I'd like to build a framing box with lights in it to put the old ones.

The 3rd will be a cocktail...and I don't know about it yet.

While I'm not a fan of Stephen King (despite having read about 6 of his earlier books last year), I like the name... it leads to other ideas such as "Game Tower", "MAME Tower", "Tower of MAME", etc
