Wiring multiple controls to one input
« on: April 19, 2004, 02:36:59 am »
What is the best way to wire multiple controls to the same input? I'm going either going to construct CP that has a 4 way and a P360 running as the first player, and maybe sharing a couple primary buttons. I may even venture off into a rotating panel, if I feel ambitious enough. What is the best way to link multiple controls to the same IPac slot? Do you twist the two wires together and then plug them in? If I were to separate the IPac from the CP controls with a barrier block, would I twist the two wires together, crimp a spade bit to them, and then attach it to the block?

I haven't seen any images or instructions as to how this is done.

That's exactly how I did it, and it works fine, no problems.  :)

Do you think it's possible to do it with three or four joystick or button inputs to the same slot or do you need to limit it to two for optimal results?

You can do it with 50 of them if you want, although if doing more than two you should wire it so there is only one wire coming out of the encoder, and instead daisy chain them like you do with the grounds.
