OK to use CRT H / V Shift ?
« on: April 11, 2023, 05:43:51 pm »
Hi

I noticed when I loaded up dodonpachi it had cut the top of the image off , I adjusted my TV's service menu and it was still the same.

I found an option in the mame video options for "CRT H SHIFT" and adjusted to -45 and it all fits now but is it OK to adjust the picture in GroovyMame ? It won't mess with the resolution/scaling or anything?

Thanks

I think it was designed for those who don't want to tinker with custom modelines. It's much easier this way. Modeline 320x240 at about 5,3 Hz also cuts a bit of picture on my TV (that's probably vary from TV to TV) so this  is fast and easy way to corrent this especially when You are using super resolutions.

Sometimes hovewer it's still better to use custom modelines for example cps1 games could use single modeline then You put it in files cps1.ini in ini/source folder.
