Hantarex MTC9000 on a ArcadeVGA
« on: February 10, 2004, 09:30:56 am »
Hi all,

I bought the arcadeVGA Card along with the breakout cable from Ultimarc. On 'the Monitor FAQ'-Sticky, Menace suggested I should ask here how to connect my Hantarex 9000 Monitor to the PC using the breakout cable, since no additional info on this type of monitor is there...

Could someone please help me out here (Wiring, 1 or 5 Volt issue, discharging mon,...) ?

Thanks for any reply
Bos

PS : Monitor is in excellent condition, cabinet works on PCB's now

hiya,

best I can suggest is to hunt down a monitor manual, i know of a guy in UK who sometimes has manuals for your monitor http://www.coin.demon.co.uk/-video.htm#hantarex

hope that helps

I have the same setup in my cab. Bin the breakout cable and get the amped cable from ultimarc. The contrast is too low otherwise and unadjustable.

Pin1 Blue
Pin2 Green
Pin3 Red
Pin4 Ground (Black)
Pin5 V/Sync
Pin6 H/Sync

Just try the H and V cables on either of the remaining two cables as i'm not sure if mine are connected the same as my monitor is mounted in the bottom of the cab with a large mirror so everything is primarily displayed in reverse.

The pinouts stated are correct as I have the manual for the MTC9000. I used this method an my monitor's fine.

If you want the pinouts for the power side they are:

Pin1 128V Fused 2A
Pin2 0V
Pin3 220V Fused 3.15A
Pin4 0V

To discharge the tube I used a 2' piece of wood with a screwdriver clamped to the end with some screws! (no shocks for me!) This was earthed to a clean piece of the monitor frame I then carefully slipped the screwdriver under the cup and it cracked to earth nicely without traveling through me first!
Don't scratch the glass when doing this. It's not good apparently. Also the charge will build up again in the tube with the cable disconnected so do it again before reinstallation!

I have a Hantarex MTC9000 in my cab with ArcadeVGA and a JPAC.

It's working great with Win2K and MAMEWAH.

Only problem I have is a bunch of horizontal lines on screen but otherwise the picture is fine.

My cab came with the manual for a MTC900E. I have the MTC9000 manual in .pdf format though. Download it here: http://www.chronicgames.net/files/MTC9000.pdf

thanks guys,

I've got the manual
I connected the RGB/Gnd/HV-Sync from the breakout cable to the monitor and the thing just works fine (I didn't really need the videoAMP) !
Also thanx for the info on discharging but I just pulled the plug and waited 'till the next day before taking any actions

PS : I use MyHTPC as a frontend (together with MyMAME), just great !
PS2 : just an internet link to my type of cab : http://www.arcadebase.de/euro.htm  (in a couple of months, it will be a 6 button/player
