« on: January 06, 2015, 03:45:14 pm »
One of my projects I have been working on is a video slot/ casino machine. Im trying to decide what I should label the buttons as. It has 13 action buttons and 3 admin. Here is what I am working with.

What are you doing with it exactly?  Are you building this into a casino machine or building something out of a casino machine?

If you are building something into a casino machine I'd love to hear more about your build.  I would love to have a casino machine of some kind in the game room but real ones are way out of my price range and the mame casino games are kinda lame.

It was a casino game that I have MAME'd, to play video slots. It is touchscreen, so you can play the megatouch and touchmaster games. I can also run pc casino games on it. I am just trying to decide what buttons I need to cover most of the games.

Are megatouch and touchmaster part of mame? Some offshoot/add-on? Or an entirely different emulator?  I may have to look into it.

I've always wished there was an elegant way to play/emulate some of the newer video slots but back when I looked into it I didn't find one except for one that played a lot of UK machines but was kinda funky.

Pick a slot game in Mame such as Animal Bonus (slots) and when it is running press (Tab) then (Input This Game) which will show you the switches used in the game.  This will help you determine what buttons you want on your panel to make best use of the slot or poker games.   I am running  Mame 149 and the slot and poker games are emulated and work fairly well.   Just stay away from printer keys that print credit info from the machines as these will hang up the emulation.

Thanks Bob, that was kind of the plan. There is just more buttons needed then I have.
