It's perfectly functional..the 4-way is around about the same position is on actual Ms. Pac-Man machines. Nothing gets in the way of anything so it all works out well.
It looks like P1's right elbow would hit the 4 way, or (s)he'd have to stand somewhat awkwardly, the button layout isn't helping either. Its angled in such a way it would encourage the right elbow to stick out further to maker the hands line up with the buttons. If your elbow doesnt hit it, you must be tiny and/or have T-Rex arms.
For P2, the 4 ways buttons completely get in the way of anyway of resting the joystick hand at all. The awkward button angle actually helps the player from having their left elbow go anywhere near the 4way stick.
Your panel, you dont have to justify your choices to me.
I'm not understanding the P1's elbow comments..are you guys sticking your elbows on the control panel? The elbow is a mile behind the control panel.
I am neither tiny nor have T-rex arms.
For P2 the hand/wrist are above the buttons, pretty much at all times because of the position (control panel on the floor, someone sitting next to it) and when I remove the yellow button, even with the hand resting it won't hit the other buttons.
Which awkward button angle, I'm confused? Everything is ergonomic. The 6-pack of buttons are angled counterclockwise 10 degrees which is much more natural position for the wrist to be in.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding, when you say elbow are you referring to someone's forearm?
Also just to clarify this is just an arcade stick, it's not going on a cabinet.
