doesn't look terribly complex, esp the parallel version. With that one, each denomination raises a specific parallel line, so you might actually be able to hook that up to a normal controller (like an IPAC) and configure which lines "press" which buttons (for instance a 1$ insert might "press" the 1 button, as configured on the ipac.

But there's several different interface options looks like.

99% of all dba's are programed through a serial rj45 port
with the ict's they program through a little serial to rj45 port unit
same with cash code, same with mei..etc
u will see the port as it  looks like a phone jack on the side, that is the program port
now u are in luck if u get it from happ..as u can ask them to add the nessary s/w.>usa< support olny 1/2/5/10/20/50,then when the usa dose fully roll out there
polys..and its comming fast..u get to remove it and pay them to up-date it
about 50.00
if u are in canada..go to a ict >v7< as u can unstrap it
and make it stand alone at 12volts dc >2.3< amp's
the programer from them is 99$ and a handy thing with all the s/w they provide at no cost..plus support is 100%
if u need more tech on the >v7< ask..

i just find out this bill validator its over 2 years out of the market and it wont have any updates in the future, i think ill go with the pyramid series, it looks pretty solid, unless someone recomends another brand, wich supports  multiple contry's. thanks for the help anyway.

i guess u missed the point or are just wanting cheap cheap
ict will do the trick for u
U will NOT FIND any dba that will do all,at the same time
reason is simple as it is long, each country uses its own security code.
so usa dba will not work with canadian or uro or yen etc etc
they will need to be reprogramed each time to the country code
hence the reason i told u >ict<
there programer is 99.00 and they will provide support
live it love it

Sorry ,i didnt knew what you meant with ICT, i thought it was some kind of jargon.
ICT DBA as you call them , looks like a great option, pus i can buy the thru a website, i dont see they sell the programer on zusohapp, ill keep looking to see where i can buy them, i dont need the whole world currency, i just need it to be MEX/USA i saw that the mei and pyramid DBA's had that option, i just hope CTI has that option too.
Please pardon my english as im not very good with it, and thanks for the help.
Would you happen to know where i can find the programmer?

yes right from ict
it is a fp-001
it comes with a rj45 cable to hook to the ict
and a serial cable to hook to your lappie
DO NOT USE WIN7 OR 8 olny 98se/xp
once u have that which u can call and order from itc-america
then ask them for the s/w u need for usa dollars and mex-pesos
they will send u a few files
1=the .exe to run the programer
1=the usa .bin
1=the mex .bin
place them all in the same .dir
example..c:\ict
excute the .exe from there, then pick the currency u want to load in to the dba..
follow the hand book to the t
if u have problems, just ring me up

i think ill go with the pyramid series, it looks pretty solid,

eeek...pyramid :puke

have about 50 of these...the acceptance on pyramyd acceptors is not great...even from brand new. I suppose there could be exceptions though.

ICT is the industry standard A++++ service...

next i suppose would be "CoinCo" but they charge the hell out of you to update their acceptors. they also tend to abandon their acceptors and not do updates for them anymore...forcing you to buy a new one.

next in line would be would be MEI but MEI's support is terrible and they tend . i have a heck of a time getting someone just to get back to me or answer a question.

next i suppose would be pyramid...still waiting on an update from them for 4 weeks now...

then all your chinese off brand acceptors.

the p70 is hands down your best bet
it is stacker less..+ it is not mdb controlled >mulit-drop-bus< >straped-to-the-host<,
the stackers on the other hand can be >un-strapped<,i have taken
a v7 36vdc unit, and with the proper interface,4 pins and a few switchs on the unit
turned into a 12vdc stacker unit that is not staped to the host..works like a charm
will be putting it in a gt-live,the olny mode i did was re-arange the main plug
this can be done with ease..
now as far as e-bay goes i  would not buy any thing from any person on there
unless they can without expectition they tell u it will take the new usa polys
and if there in canada i would not even touch it as there is olny a hand full of dealers
with the new firmware..these are the 1's i know..and they are giddie right now..
as it has not yet been made public

yes the p70 is a fairly decent one. we use those in our boxer machines (to replace the pyramid ones they come with)

plastic money is good to go with them. they have a bit of an issue with the blue LED getting a little dim and your acceptance goes down after a while (about 6000 hours of continuous use). I contacted the maker of the LED and can get replacements at about 5 cents each. I haven't had to order any yet, but it's an ace up your sleeve...

They are made by RED POWER CO., LTD. in Taiwan and the part number is "LL-503BC2E-013" (BLUE LED)

If a buy and used ict p70 do you think you can help me get the latest MEX firmware?

you're going to have to either purchase a programmer (FP-001) or send it to a distributer to have it programmed. I'm pretty sure mixing US/mexico in the same acceptor (I believe that's what you mentioned before.) can't be done. The pulse rate is specific to a particular amount.

for instance 1 US dollar you get 1 pulse...for $5 you would get 5 pulses 10 for 10 etc.

http://www.ictgroup.com.tw/files/p70&p70p5/P70-USD6.P5(Pulse.ICT).pdf

the mexican money is set up 1 pulse per 10

http://www.ictgroup.com.tw/files/p70&p70p5/P70-MXP4.P5(Pulse.ICT).pdf

someone at ICT might be able to mix you up a custom firmware to take a few of both (memory restrictions for the number bill profiles able to be stored)...all you can do is ask them.  :dunno

i will save u the time
NO THEY WILL NOT write mixed code..
like i pointed out it is 2 .bins
u load in 1 lets say the mex..it will kick out the usa .bin
about as simple as that
this is done because of a mulit reasons, the least of which shawn pointed out to
u..
and be very very careful when u buy used dba's of any brand
i already pointed u to the questions u should be asking the seller
or end up with a legeacy unit >non-programable<..

yes, the problem is that the bill acceptor units have a single memory space. 1 or the other.

other things like coin acceptors have individual memory slots that can be programmed for each individual coin you need to accept. so you could mix and match.

I don't recall if any of the bill acceptors have mixed acceptance or not. it's like Canada or USA or Mexico. I've never ran into a need for mixed currency.
