I just replied to some idiot in the software forum who started a new thread basically asking how many gigs and how many roms make up every single collection (NES, SNES, MAME, Genesis, etc) and how long and how difficult it would be to aquire all of them....

These types of threads are ridiculous and I think there needs to be some sterner rules regarding posts about roms and aquiring roms and stuff.  Getting roms illegally is not right and that is NOT what this board is all about.  Questionable posts about roms should be deleted by moderators and the poster should be giving a warning or something.

The past six months we have seen so many newbie members coming in here making dumb posts like this.  It's ridiculous.

We enforce the rules.  But Mods don't read every post just as you don;t read every post.  Hence the report to moderator link on each post.

You probably shouldn't reply to those posts. Just click report to moderator and they'll disapear sooner. If you reply it bumps it to the top and encourages others to reply.

Getting roms illegally is not right

Man, I would love to come over to your place and see your dumping hardware and PCB collection. It must be huge!!!  ;D

Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

I'm not going around asking everyone where to get them ;)  That just bothers me because it gives the entire board a bad name if thats what it turns into.  I dont mind if that guy goes around and gathers all the roms he wants but just keep it to himself.

it would give the board a bad name if people really cared about it and there were posts every day. now either the mods delete/lock them quickly or not a lot of people come around posting for rom requests. also i don't see a problem with a quick response giving the url of the burning team.
