Scripting error, can't update game list -- SOLVED
« on: September 04, 2011, 01:50:17 am »
Just spent the weekend rewiring my control panel only to run smack dab into a software issue.

Maximus 2.10, when I force a rescan of the ROM folder I get a scripting error on the importing .XML list step.  Asks if you want to continue running scripts.  Yes causes it to hang, no causes it to crash.

Tried a fresh directory install and it does the same thing.

Went into the preferences.exe file and deleted every Mame game lists.  That seemed to resolve the issue.  Now if I can just get my videos playing again ...

Just to be more infuriating, on the upstairs machine, on my backup drive (which is configured exactly the same) it loads fine and indexes the mame list correctly.  That would indicate that Maximus is failing out due to a missing system file or something outside of the application itself.

I'm going to try configuring the lists upstairs.
