HOD in Mame No Video

Finally got a PC fast enough to play HOD 1 in Mame. Trouble is screen is totally black. Most video is not shown. It does show opening scenes and you can here the game playing. It also shows the bullets off to the side and you can see the slash marks come across as your getting owned, but no other video.. Any suggestions?  Tried searching came up with nothing. Thanks a bunch.

Model 2 won't allow 2x guns though.

Yeah, the things that suck about model 2:

1) if you shoot of screen, it will at some point minimize the window.  So you have to use a button to reload, unless someone has fixed this?

2) You can't use 2 guns. There is a way to allow raw input to use 2 mice independently, but for whatever reason it won't work with 2 aimtraks.

Hopefully these issues get fixed, but it seems most of the development is primarily concerned with the racing games, which makes sense since Daytona was the highest grossing cab ever.  But seriously, the last update allowed you to customize polygons in the race cars to add your own logo, cool, but I would rather the gun games work better... just sayin'.
