Maximus Arcade 2.10 with MAME 0.139 B(lack)SOD.
« on: August 12, 2010, 02:08:55 pm »
Hi all,

I just updated/modified/compiled my MAME 0.139 so that the nag screens would disappear (simple) and installed a single game (Double Dragon) which works fine when I run it through MAME directly.  (Woot.)  The problem lies with the fact that, even after configuring Maximus Arcade (inputting the MAME executable directory and pointing at the ROM directory) it goes to a permanently black screen when I try to play the game.  Maximus seems to work fine until this point, then goes black.  If I click Escape, I return to Maximus out of the game, but I would like some help in troubleshooting why this might be happening.  Interestingly enough, if I use MameUI, the games play fine through Maximus Arcade.

Is there something simple I'm missing?  Is there something I can show you (log/dump file) that might help?

Thanks in advance!

Rick

Update: So, I tried again from my home computer (was on the work computer when the issues occurred) and it looks like it worked fine.  I compiled a new version of MAME 0.139 and ran Maximus perfectly from home.  So, I'm leaning towards some type of configuration issue here at work.  The strange part is, I removed/uninstalled Maximus and then re-installed it here, and it didn't fix the problem.  Perhaps there's something stuck in the C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data directory pertaining to Maximus which is causing the same issue to reoccur.  I'll check that now.
