Flight Stick

Hello, I wanted to share this with everyone once it is completed, but I can't wait.  The pictures are of the base of a Sidewinder Flight Stick and a 3" trackball plate mounted to it.  It fits perfect.  So I also bought a Tornado spinner.  So I am hooking up the joystick and spinner with USB, and a trackball and buttons with a I-pac/Opti-pac.  I though that everyone might want to see what this looks like before they do a hack on a flight stick.  I don't think that you need to....Any comments?

Very cool... thanks for the pic...  pretty neat idea...  have any other shots to share?

one note... sounds like you have a separate interface for your spinner (usb mouse hack?) ... which seems redundant if you are getting an optipac (which allows you to concurrently hook up a track ball and multiple spinners n' stuff)

I've got a Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 that would be pretty cool to have on a panel, but I'm not sure about how to mount the throttle control on it.  I kind of ran out of room.  Maybe someday down the road.

I'd be interested to see the rest of the details on how you mounted everything up underneath and all.

The tornado spinner comes with a USB interface.  I could hook it up to the opti-pac as well, but if everything works with the USB hookup, then I won't.  More pics to come when I'm done :)
