Hi, my name is Sam. I am a new mamer and am planning to build an arcade soon. However, a few problems have occurred. First of all, I would like to know how you wire a coin door to a button you can push and also so that you can put in a coin and MAME recognizing it as a credit. I am planning to buy a SlikStik QUAD with an encoder already in it. So do I have to hook it up to the control panel or something or buy an encoder, or something else? Please help. I am very obscure with the whole wiring aspect.
My second question was how do you create on those little doors on the bottom of the cabinet that have a lock on them, exposing the inside of the cabinet. I would like to have one of these but I am building a pre-built kit and it just has a coin door slot. The little door I am talking about is on the Pac-MAmea. Also, what is that plate below the coin door that has a lock on it. Is that for collecting coins? I am also confused about all the different types of coin apparatus. There's the coin mech, comparitor, ones that take token, OVER/Under take different types of coins and what not and all different sorts of things. I am so confused because Happs gives aterrible product description of each one and I haven't heard anybody mention it on any websites.
I am grateful to anybody that can help me by giving some input to the forementioned. To summarize the previous what I am buying is an Ultimate Arcade II pre-built kit and a SlikStik QUAD control panel. What I want on my arcade but am having problems and questions about is the following: an arcade with both a switch and quarter/token coin door for credits, the little door on the bottom with a lock to grant access to the inside, the diferent types of coin things, and anything else mentioned before. If you could please offer even the smallest amount of input that would be great. Thanks a lot. -Sam, your fellow MAMER
