looking for quality stick

looking for quality a stick for fighting games.   i play ps2 and pc.  anyone have experience with justplaingaming.com? the custom stick they built looks so nice.  i emailed modeverything.com and he just blew me off so ill take my money else where.  mas are nice sticks but the buttons are too close to the stick for me.  any other suggestions?

I build by own, but if you're gonna purchase one I would suggest that you PM SNAAKE.  I've never ordered from him or JPG.  The one thing that bugs me about JPG, though, is that they charge $15.00 to have convex buttons and $12.00 for a Comp joystick when there is no discernable price difference between the parts (concave vs convex, comp vs ultimate).  If you think you can do it, I would say build it instead.  It would probably cost you less than half of what you'll pay and you can design it to your liking.  Good luck!

i have been looking into building one.  how hard would it be to build a stick that can hook up to ps2 and pc?   i would like to have a usb interface for pc.

If you want one that'll plug into any gaming system and don't feel like making your own why not just buy an X-arcade?  I have one on the MAME cabinet I built and it works freakin great and the price is only $150 shipped.  Hard to beat if you ask me, unless you're building it yourself.  It also has a lifetime warranty and they don't void your warranty if you modify it.  I replaced the buttons on mine with different colored buttons because the all black was a little boring looking for an arcade game IMO.

I'm in a similar predicament, so I guess I'll ask if want I want to do sounds/is possible.  I'm finishing up a bartop and plan to start building an upright around the end of the month.

I want to play both arcade AND Dreamcast games in the same cabinet.  Now, I don't want to have to hook and unhook controls.  So what I want to do is have one set of wires going from the controls to the I-PAC and another set of wires (also coming from the controls) going to a hacked DC controller.

Just want to know if anyone else has done this exact thing, and if so, how's it working?

Iguana--you might want to check your local Gamestop, if you have one, and  ask for the Pelican Real Arcade Joystick.  The current version is universal (i.e. Gamecube, PS1/2, XBox), but they used to make them separately for each system, and they will be less expensive.  I just happened to sell the one I have for $35, including a PS1/2 to USB adapter, which I used with MAME.  It appears to use the same parts that you can buy from Happs, etc (might even be a Happ joystick?).  Anyway, that's probably your best bet if you don't want to make your own.  Do a search on Pelican here, and you'll find some more detailed information.

Well, you have a GREAT start... but with slight substandard parts.

The encoder is great with cross system compatibility.  I would keep it.

Someone here (sorry, cant remember who) sells a stick base box (pre drilled with tmolding and all) for very cheap (30 bucks or so).  Its the boards for the top/bottom/sides ect to look similar but larger then the xbox.  Same style.

Then buy the joysticks you want.  I would personally go with a t-stick plus (top 8way 4way stappable) at ultimarc.com.  Great joystick and 4way games suck with 8way joysticks.  

Then I would buy some real happs comp buttons (www.therealbobroberts.com is usually cheapest... but look around).

Then use your xarcade controller.  IE, every nice feature with the XArcade  but with real arcade parts.
