Credit button AND Coin door?
« on: June 29, 2004, 12:06:44 pm »
This is kind of a moot point since my control panel overlay is already designed and about to be printed and my coin door has been ordered, but I'm wondering how many people have "Player 1 Credit / Player 2 Credit" buttons as well as a working coin door?

I'm thinking that I'd still want the buttons because it would get to become a pain to have to re-insert quarter after quarter to keep playing...

Although I still want the coin door because for the authentic feel of the cabinet.

Any thoughts on this?

I mapped my pinball buttons to work as P-1 and P-2 coinups.

My coin door is basically a big piggy bank.
Quarters go in, but they don't come out--until they are paying for an upgrade.

I am planning on doing this for the same reason. I only have the buttons right now, but I'll be ordering my coin door soon. I think this is a pretty common setup...

It's done all the time.  I have that setup.  My next cab won't because I want the 'authentic' feel of using tokens.

Anothter option might be having hidden coin buttons on top of the cab.  Others have rigged thier coin-door reject buttons as credit buttons.

It is strictly a matter of personal preference.

oh...   seems like you missed The Greatest Post of All Time*

*Discalaimer: Greatest Post of All Time only refers to posts by me (mmmPeanutButter) on the subject of "Coin Credits" that got very little feedback.

I have both as well, i like the authenticity of the coin door, but i also like the convience of a credit button on the panel.
